Dog Teeth Cleaning – Is It Worth It?

By Sarah · SJ’s Rebarkable Dog Grooming, Old Catton

Many dog owners begin thinking about dental care when they notice bad breath or visible plaque. If you notice changes in your dog's mouth, speak to your vet: a groomer cannot diagnose dental problems.

At SJ's Rebarkable Dog Grooming, I offer Emmi Pet ultrasonic teeth-cleaning sessions. The system uses ultrasound technology without scraping, and sessions are introduced gradually so your dog can become familiar with the process.

Emmi Pet may help reduce surface plaque and freshen breath as part of an oral-hygiene routine. Results vary, and it is not suitable for every dog.

It is not a replacement for veterinary dental assessment or treatment. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent dental disease. If your dog has sore or bleeding gums, loose teeth, pain, or other dental concerns, contact your vet before arranging a session.

Some owners choose maintenance sessions as part of their dog's care routine. How often these are appropriate depends on the individual dog and any advice from their vet.

Is it worth it? The right starting point is a conversation about your dog, what you have noticed and whether a session is suitable. I can explain the process without promising a particular result.
